Finally I have found an answer to the question: Why I can't remember my childhood.
My sister repeatedly pointed out my poor memory whenever she told me a story and asked if I remember it.
Often, I don't recall those events that have happened during my childhood.
I have no idea why and it always amazes me how my sister can remember them so well.
Not do I forget my childhood, I don't remember much about the past events.
It makes me wonder if my brain is really going wrong in some way to the extent I can't really remember my childhood.
I began to search for an answer.
Recently I came across this article that is published in Business Insider.
(Read full article here: http://www.businessinsider.com/why-no-adult-can-remember-infancy-2014-5?IR=T&utm_content=buffer09845&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=buffer)
This mental condition is dubbed infantile amnesia which states that human tend to forget their early years.
A kind of tissue that cranks out new neurons are believed to help make memories.
Neurogenesis helps us to forget. Decreasing neurogenesis can therefore prolong memories.
I guess the birth of neurons in my brain is too active therefore I couldn't retain much memories.
I would rather call this selective memory. I remember what's worth remembering and forget those that is not so important. That's why I can live my life so happily. :)
So STOP saying I am forgetful. It is not under my control.
