The reason: I might encounter difficult situation that I can't handle and live a miserable life.
And then I thought: If I do not venture into something I don't know, how am I supposed to start something new?
Will we ever know what's on Mount Everest if everyone has the mindset that I should not venture into something I don't know?
Will we ever know what's in the deep sea if everyone has the mindset?
Clearly, "do not venture into something you don't know" is an incomplete statement.
One should not venture into something one doesn't know much about unprepared.
What that means is if I were to explore Mount Everest or the deep sea, I have to prepare myself physically and mentally.
Although such adventurous explorations involve high risk, "high risk high reward" causal relationship has always been encouraging people to take risk as we all want high rewards for the things we do.
If you really want something badly, you need to do your research and prepare yourself for the challenge.
Do not venture into something you know nothing about and think you can learn slowly from others.
The world is cruel and it doesn't wait for turtles.
Success are for those who are prepared.
